Calling all nutritionists!

If you are a nutritionist or holistic health professional, we would love to have you involved in our endeavor: to help people to nourish themselves!

With your help, we will continue to develop and improve our informative and inspirational online guide to help Canadians make the transition to better nutrition with ease and grace.

How can you contribute?

Contributing is as simple as e-mailing us your easy-to-prepare, nutritious recipes, and/or any health tips, substitution ideas and personal inspirational stories. Whether you have a full-time practice or simply have the passion, this is your opportunity to make a small contribution to a large project!

To recognize your contributions, we will publish your name, designation and contact information on our Contributors page. This feature of the blog will allow followers to find a practitioner in their area should they wish to seek personal nutrition consulting.

Note: if you are currently a student of Nutrition, you can also participate and be acknowledged as a Contributor. We will not be able to list your designation(s), however, until after your graduation – but we will welcome and post your contributions in meantime. It’s a great way to get your name out and become part of the nutritionist community right away.

Why contribute?

By sharing your nutrition knowledge on this practical and accessible platform, you’ll be empowering others–including your clients–to eat in a more educated and conscious way. The site is also a valuable resource that you can offer your clients to assist them in implementing your dietary recommendations.

Ways to contribute:

1. Recipes

All recipes  must meet the following criteria:

  • Prep time of 30 minutes or less
  • 10 ingredients or less
  • Simple, easy-to-find ingredients
  • Free of common allergens (or if allergens listed, substitutions suggested)
  • Most importantly, tasty! (note: if kids like it too,  please let us know and we’ll also include it in our “kid-approved” category)

Please be sure to include your recipe’s title, a brief intro/description, and the number of servings it yields. Photos are strongly encouraged as well.

2. Health Tips

Simple health tips/facts that will educate people on the importance of getting proper nutrients and of avoiding harmful, nutrient-deficient foods; and demonstrate how to easily incorporate healthier foods and habits into their diets and lifestyles. If you submit a health tip, please be as concise as possible – simplicity is the key.

3. Substitutions

Healthier substitutions for commonly used or consumed foods/ingredients. Please submit as many as you like!

4. Inspirational Stories

Do you have a story that will inspire others to make positive changes to their diet and/or lifestyle? Or do you have a particular area of expertise or passion that you would like to educate people about (i.e. buying organic, growing your own, etc.)? We have a category for that too!
