Sauerkraut is one of my favorite foods for its super hero benefits! Like lactic acid fermented pickles, this is a lactic acid fermented product which supports nearly every system in the body such as the immune, cardiovascular – and especially the digestive system.

Sauerkraut is full of enzymes as well as probiotics making it a real bang for your buck: it not only rebalances your intestinal system, but also helps the whole digestion process! Consider having a serving as a side dish with your meals to aid digestion.

Note: if you have intestinal issues, you may want to start slowly with only a teaspoon or two a day, or just a teaspoon or two of the juice until your system gets adjusted. While it works on rebalancing your bacterial flora, sensitive people may experience some side effects related to short term intestinal discomfort.
